Chronic Illness


Coping Well with Chronic Conditions Series

Living with a chronic medical condition such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, heart disease, diabetes, etc., can be very stressful, both for the individual and his/her family. If we don't manage the disease, the disease will manage us. In this class series, Dr. Romm will teach some of the basic, practical skills and attitudes needed to become an active self-manager of your chronic illness. The goal is to the best we can, live a life of purpose and quality despite our illness. Come to one class or to all the classes and bring a family member or friend.

September 8 :Becoming an active self-manager
October 13 :Managing stress and negativie thoughts
November 10 :Communicating with family, friends, and physicians
December 8 : Exercising for strength, flexibility, and endurance


All programs are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will be in the Health Management Classroom 1st floor of the hospital 1 south corridor near Doctor's Offices C/Entrance C/Parking lot C.

Fitness and Weight Management


Holiday Kids Camp

Keep the kids off the couch and active over the holiday break with a variety of fun activities that will have them moving. Fee: $5/class. Please bring consent form to class.

Personal Training

Set your fitness goals and meet them with ClubRES Personal Training!

An experienced trainer will customized a comprehensive work-out plan and train you on proper exercise form and technique to prevent injuries.

The more you buy, the more you save; bring a friend and save even more!

One Session:
One-on-One: $40 for 1 hour
Tag-Team (2 people): $60 ($30/hour)

Five Sessions:
One-on-One: $175 ($35/hour)
Tag-Team: $250 ($25/hour)

Ten Sessions:

Fitness Center


Club Res Fitness Center

Club Res Fitness Center State-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength training equipment, pool and whirlpool to help you reach your fitness goals. Personal training, floor and aquatic exercise classes also are available.

RMC: Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday, 6 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.- noon.

Making Waves to a Better You

Making waves to a better you is an 8 week aquatic exercise class for those who have difficulty exercising with gravity. It increases endurance,agility,& flexibility. Tuesday 6-6:45p.m. is a lecture from a physician,exercise physiologist, dietician, psychologist, or a physical therapy assistant. Tuesday and Thursday from 7-7:45 p.m. is aquatic exercise.

Physician clearance is required on a prescription stating you can participate in the exercise class and bring it with you. Fee is $96.00. The aquatic exercise portion of this program will be taking place in the pool so swim wear is required.

American Red Cross Babysitting

A registered nurse teaches young people, ages 11 and older, how to handle emergencies, prevent accidents and care for children while babysitting. Children must bring a signed parental consent, and should also bring a doll with movable arms and legs (not Barbie or similar dolls) to the class. Participants should also bring something to eat for dinner or money to purchase dinner. Advance registration and payment required. Fee: $70.

Hearing Screening for Adults

This 5- to 10-minute hearing screening is conducted by audiologists in Resurrection Medical Center's Audiology Department. Screening will determine if you have normal hearing and whether a full evaluation is recommended. Advance registration required. Free.

Massage Therapy

Therapeutic massages, by a certified massage therapist, for relaxation and stress reduction. Appointment required. Fee: $30 for 30 minutes.

Prevention and Wellness


Freedom From Smoking--American Lung Association Smoking Cessation

To help smokers kick the habit, Resurrection Medical Center is offering an eight-session American Lung Association program that uses a variety of techniques to quit smoking. Advance registration required. Fee: $150. A $25 refund is given for attending all sessions, whether or not quitting
is achieved. One 30-minute massage is included as well as tips on how not to gain weight and different ways to exercise.
